Sue Horn and all those who have helped support us,
I would like to take this opportunity say thank you from myself and my fellow Marines. Your packages and well wishes have lifted our spirits at a time when we are so far away from our friends and family. I wish you could have seen the bright eyed looks and utter excitement from the Marines when opening the boxes. It was a true blessing that you made happen. It makes us proud to know that our fellow Americans care as much as we do. It makes the sacrifice we and our families make worth every minute we spend here. We as Americans may not all agree on the war or our presence here but we can stand shoulder to shoulder in unison on one thing that we are all proud of our country and we are proud of each other. The effort you make on behalf of the troops is just as important as the work we are doing here and around the world. It signifies the intention of our founding fathers and elders before us, that we all must look out for and attend to each other and that link is the strength to our greatness. Again thank you and as you pray for us we pray you.
Gratefully,
GySgt Delvon M. Survine

Subject: Grateful Thanks and a Request for Information (UNCLASSIFIED)
Dear Ma'am or Sir,
First, thank you so much for the support you provide to Soldiers overseas and across the world. Please thank all members of 'Treat Any Soldier' as well for the many packages that you have sent. They are appreciated more than anyone can realize and really do bring a smile to Soldiers' faces when they open them. I am a Company Commander of a Headquarter and Headquarters Company (HHC) in the 5TH Engineer Battalion. We are an Active Duty Unit based out of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and have still well over a year into our deployment. In HHC I currently have around 95 Service-Members (I get to type that since our BN has some Navy and Air Force attachments). As it draws closer and closer to the Holiday season, I was wondering if you could help me answer the following questions. First, would it be possible to request 'treat stockings' for Soldiers in my unit? I realize this is a bit far out and you might not even offer them, but I wanted to start planning now in order to try and make the Holiday Season a bit more bearable for everyone. More importantly though my Battalion Commander, LTC Joel Cross, and I would like to allow Soldiers the opportunity to celebrate with their Military family here in Iraq AND their Family back at home.
Our local MWR building allows Soldiers to make video-tapes reading books which Soldiers can then mail home. However, MWR has have a very limited supply of books, and very few to zero Christmas related books. If you have heard of any group who sends books downrange for 'read-a-book'
programs for children/literature of any age (we would even take old copies of Dickens' Christmas Carol right now!) I would enthusiastically appreciate the help. I only ask because you no doubt have many contacts in the Military-volunteering world. Well, please let me know if you are able to find out any information, or if you have any requests of us as well (thank you cards, a group picture, etc.). I hope you have an excellent day, and thank you again!
Sincerely,
Ruth A. Mower

Subject: Thank You So Much!!!
Hi,
I just wanted to send you a heartfelt thank you for the package you sent to my nephew in Iraq. My nephew just recently was shipped over to Iraq with the Army. I wanted to show my support and when I found your website I knew it was the best way to send a care package and would probably be the quickest way as well. I didn't know how quick you would be!!!
My brother just e-mailed me that my nephew was the first person in his battalion to receive any mail and that it was the package I sent to him through your website! His First Seargant delivered it to him personally. His e-mail follows. I will definately send him more care packages through your site and tell everyone else I know about your excellent and speedy service. God Bless you and all your hard work!

Hi Jeanne and family,
Just a quick note to let you know that Josh received your package and he likes it very much. You have the honor of not only being the first of the family to get something to him, but also it was the first piece of mail delivered to his battalion - delivered by his First Sergeant.
Thank you so very much.
Jim

Subject: [U] Overwhelming Thank you
I cannot tell you how awesome you people are for getting this together for me and my fellow marines. You people are awesome. I cannot thank you enough for your overwhelming support in getting those packages sent to us. We the family at MASS-3 thank you very much for your overwhelming support. You guys ROCK!!!! It is amazing how many packages and letters we constantly get from this organization. All the cookies, all the goodies, all the things yall send us. How thoughtful for this organization. We thank you so much for everything yall send us. Knowing that there are good people in this world who support our cause out here is important to the morale of our marines. I know we complain a lot sometimes and times get rough sometime being away from the ones whom we love so much. Being away from friends and family is hard sometimes. Our job is not easy, and our job is important to our Country. I can't tell you how much more motivated I am everyday knowing that people like you send us stuff and letters. You really don't have to and yet people take the time out of their busy schedule to help us marines out here in Iraq but you do anyway.
I just want to say thank you from the Marines of MASS-3
Sincerely,
Cpl Maddings

I on a different FOB from the rest of my company and the way they live is the same and the way I live is in tents just until the end of February. I've gotten the packages and never open them I just hand one to someone in my squad and hope that they write yall back, but I see that I got to do it on my own now.
